Engies are the builders of your base, and the cheapest squad in the game, so you shouldn't feel bad about getting a second one pretty early on, 4 extra rifles are 4 extra rifles after all. The most important thing is not letting enemy having big point advancement over you: split units and try picking his points when he is in one position on the map. SOV: maxim cancer spam? cons cancer spam? microed penals? UKF: 1 hmg paired with some infantry section behind cover should do work You can use Assault Engineers to counter them, but micro them with care. USF: well, don't let those blob fully develop by using rifles and pathfinders - don't let those pesky cqb unit close distance. At this point, let Soviets have Shock troops with just 1 command point and USF Ranger same.
